Highlights of Our Göcek 12 Islands Route
Yassıca Islands
With their shallow turquoise waters, the Yassıca Islands are ideal for swimming and offer one of the most peaceful breaks of the day. Here, you feel the serenity of the sea and enjoy swimming freely in crystal-clear waters.
Kızılada
Named after the reddish color its sand and pebbles take on at sunset, Kızılada is home to a lighthouse. Since the eastern coast is sheltered from waves, it is suitable for swimming.
Deliktaş Island
Located northwest of Kızılada and known as one of the famous stops near Fethiye Ölüdeniz, Deliktaş Island is especially preferred by local and international visitors who enjoy diving.
Yassıca Islets
Consisting of five small islands, the Yassıca Islets are an essential stop for daily boat tours. The islands are too small to have individual names and have no facilities. On the largest island, there is a small natural pool at the tip of the sandy shore stretching into the sea. The distance to the nearest island is only 12 meters and can easily be reached by swimming. If you can swim for about half an hour, you can explore the other four islands as well.
Zeytin Island
Located at the southern end of the Yassıca Islets, Zeytin Island stands out as the only privately owned island in the area. There is an olive oil workshop believed to date back to the Ottoman period.
Tersane Island
Tersane Island is the largest among the islands of Fethiye. Before World War I, a Greek village was located here. After the population exchange period, the island was abandoned. Today, you can see the remains of the shipyard that gave the island its name and the ruins of an old watchtower. There are two sheltered bays known as summer and winter harbors, attracting both local and international visitors, especially for blue cruises.
Domuz (Prince) Island
With its wind-protected harbor, this island allows boats to anchor comfortably. It is named “Domuz Island” after the wild boars living there, and also “Prince Island” after a prince believed to have once lived there.
Göbün Bay
Covered with pine and olive trees, Göbün Bay is a long inlet with a narrow entrance, located south of Domuz Island. Visitors can disembark at the far end of the bay to see rock tombs and ancient ruins. Blue cruise boats frequently anchor here.
Cleopatra Bath Bay
This bay is a must-visit stop for blue cruise boats, daily tour boats, and private yachts, both for swimming and exploring historical remains. At the pier area, you can see the remains of a Byzantine monastery, half submerged underwater. With a 30-minute uphill walk, you can also reach the ruins of the ancient city of Lydae.
Bedri Rahmi Bay
Located opposite Tersane Island, this bay was originally named Taşyaka Bay. It became known as Bedri Rahmi Bay after the painter Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu carved a fish figure into a rock here. There are restaurants and docking piers in the bay.
Hamam Bay (Cleopatra Bath)
This bay, where ancient ruins can be seen underwater, offers a unique experience for both swimming and exploration.
Other Bays in the 12 Islands Region
Among the bays locally known as the “12 Islands” are Kurşunlu Bay, Yavansu, Boynuzbükü, Göcek Island, Domuz Island, Zeytin Island, and Kızıl Ada.
Not all bays are visited on every tour; the most suitable and enjoyable stops are selected according to daily conditions.
